Advanced Naval Propulsion Systems Symposium
Recent Developments in Variable Marine Jet Propulsors
This Technical Paper Is Available Upon Request.

"We begin with an explanation of the losses that are unavoidable in the fixed geometry of common marine jets. Then, we introduce controllable features for the inlet, pump, and nozzle of a marine jet to reduce such losses. Finally, we work through an application, making all of the assumptions explicit, and compare the performance of the theoretical system to that of a contra-rotating propeller drive and a conventional jet."

Presented by Jeff Jordan of IntelliJet Marine, Inc. and Ron Selvidge, Art Anderson Associates.
